Last night I saw a sunset that looked like it was right off a cartoonist's drawing board. Here in Texas we get many terrific sunsets. Perhaps it is Mother Nature's way for compensating for the hot weather.
Such beauty is really appreciated after the end of an unsettling day. The tragedy in Oslo, the political wrangling over the debt, taxes and social program cuts, the wacky quality of the current possible candidates for president all sadden me. Its difficult to be optimistic about the future. Then a spectacular color display in the sky reminds me that tomorrow might be a better day.
Enjoy a very hot weekend. Watch a good movie. Read a good book. Call a friend or family member. All things that can be done from a cool place.
